Joseph Parker has recovered from a suspected spider bite and wants a fight before end of 2019
Joseph Parker hopes to get a struggle prior to the end of the year and has recovered from a spider bite that is supposed, says director David Higgins.
Novel Chisora-Price & WBSS final
For three weeks, forcing him to draw from a fight against Derek Chisora, that faces David Price on the Regis Prograis-Josh Taylor invoice live on Sky Sports Box Office, the New Zealander was sidelined by illness.
However, Parker has stayed in Las Vegas to resume training and would welcome a bout within the next few months, preferably a rescheduled fight with Chisora.
Higgins told Sky Sports:He would like to return before the close of the year, entirely.
He has recovered from what has been a three-week lay-off and hes back coaching, but that is actually an issue for Eddie Hearn. Hes the promoter and were in their behest. We are realistic and were just waiting to hear back in Matchroom.
He is in great spirits, hes back in practice. The honest feeling for those physicians, we believe it actually was a spider bite, although I watched the media sort of mocked the spider snack item.
Im no expert, but it sort of destroys your immune system, your wellness. You are fatigued. He had been ordered by professionals to endure for three weeks.
Make no mistake, we all desired to combat Chisora, we do. We will just see what happens.
Parker will be watching Chisora with attention with Higgins hoping his fighter may appear on the rematch, or a large US bill as a speedy victory over Cost could allow the Brit to make a quick return.
It is dependent upon how quickly Chisora can turnaround and if Eddie Hearn or Frank Smith can pull a few strings and get us on New York or even Saudi Arabia, said Higgins. Itd be a pity if Joseph had to sit for eight months, but we remain optimistic.
He is still in camp, his loved ones are with him in Vegas. He is sort of waiting. He is ready and willing, but if not, we have to be philosophical.
