Cleveland Indians at New York Yankees MLB Pick – August 16th

When the Philadelphia Phillies compensated Bryce Harper $330 Million bucks in the offseason, they did this because they wanted to make a player which could win them a match by himself. Bryce got his opportunity last night since he created the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning, with his Phillies team trailing by just two runs. And he didn’t disappoint as he blasted a moonshot, upper decker, grand slam home run, to drift the game off for the Phillies.
The blast completed an improbable comeback which saw the Phillies hit the bottom of the ninth down 5-1. They won the match 7-5. The late-game heroics also pushed the match over the total of nine and a half an hour, and we picked up our second right winning wager. It had been the definition of a back-door cover!
The game itself went much like I thought it would as Drew Smyly was awful for Philly. I questioned why they traded for a guy like Smyly who has been having such a bad season, and he got banged up again last night, giving up five runs on seven hits in just five innings of work. He did what he could to push the match to the over, but Cubs newcomer Yu Darvish was light outside in seven innings, allowing no runs.
It seemed like we were planning to take a hard-luck reduction, until Harper and the remainder of the Phillies battered the Cubs bullpen for 2 runs in the final two innings. We got a tiny bit lucky late in the game, but this is the reason why a bet on the over is so exciting, you are never out of this match until the final pitch is tossed! For today’s bet, we’ll head to the Bronx where the Yankees host the Cleveland Indians.
The Cleveland Indians have been in New York City Friday for game two of a four-game series with the Yankees. The Indians burst to get a whopping nineteen runs in game one to take the series lead. Jose Ramirez and Carlos Santana both had numerous home runs, also also seven unique guys drove conducts in, headed by Ramirez who had six RBI on the night.
The win was a big one for Cleveland as they are in a tight race with the Minnesota Twins for the American League Central Division title. With the win , the Indians are actually only a half a game back of Minnesota for first location. The Indians are 10-5 in the month of August.
For New Yorkthey are at risk of giving up first place in their division, the American League East, since they maintain a nine plus a half-game lead across the Tampa Bay Rays, and also have the best record in the significant leagues, tied with the Los Angles Dodgers. The reduction was a rare one for New York as they had won thirteen of their previous fifteen matches this month prior to getting blown out last night.
Beginning for the Yankees is currently Masahiro Tanaka (8-6 4.64 ERA), and also for the Indians, it’s Aaron Civale (1-1 1.00 ERA). The game complete over-under is put in ten and a half conducts. The Yankees are -144 favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 4:05 PM PST out of Yankee Stadium in New York City.
The New York Yankees are finally getting their lineup wholesome, and you’re able to see the difference at the plate. The Yankees are leading the majors in runs scored this past month, and it’s not even that close. The Houston Astros and their juggernaut lineup have scored six fewer runs that the Bronx Bombers this season, and the third-place group, the Minnesota Twinsare a distant twenty-eight runs behind New York. The Yankees have smashed forty-two home runs in sixteen games this past month, as well as a team, they’re hitting almost .300 because the transaction deadline.
When you take a look at the match complete for New York, they have gone nearly every game in the past few weeks. During the month of August, the Yankees and their opponents have combined for double-digit conducts in thirteen of their games. A large portion of that is their strong lineup, however, New York is also experimenting with a lot of young guys in the bullpen, and we all watched last night that sometimes those experiments can go wrong.
Masahiro Tanka has struggled since the All-Star break. In his six starts since the break, his ERA is over seven runs. In Julyhe had an ERA of almost nine runs as he gave up twenty-five runs in five starts, including seven home runs. However, in spite of the fact that he has not been very good this year, the Yankees look to seek out ways to win if he’s still on the mound. New York has won ten of the last eleven starts.
Tanaka has allowed four runs or more at a beginning ten times this year. This includes a start a few weeks back in which the Boston Red Sox nailed him twelve runs in 3 innings. Obviously the guy was inconsistent could be a major understatement. He can still occasionally show up though. We saw this last week when he tossed eight shutout innings against the Toronto Blue Jays. It’ll be interesting to find out exactly what Tanaka brings to the park tonight since the Cleveland Indians are certainly not the Toronto Blue Jays.
Aaron Civale left his major league debut at a place start on June 22nd for Cleveland and seemed good in six innings of work. The Indians have called Civale up here in August to enable a playoff push, and the youngster has been great. In both August starts since rejoining the team, Civale has pitched six innings in both games and has allowed only 1 run in each appearance.
I see fireworks coming tonight! The Yankees can not stop scoring runs, and with Tanaka over the mound, having a weary bullpen that got blasted for fourteen runs behind him, I see the Yankees giving up a lot of runs as well. Civale has been impressive in his brief stint in the big leagues, but he’s going to have a rude awakening tonight. Slimming down the Texas Rangers and the Detroit Tigers does not mean you’re going to be able to slow down these red-hot Yankees. Welcome to the show kid!
This is only one of those games that could turn mad like the night’s event that saw twenty-four runs go up on the plank. After becoming embarrassed on their home field last night, I see New York showing no winner for this newcomer tonight. And most of us understand that Tanaka is going to give up at least a couple of runs too. So, I am likely to take the above in this 1 tonight.
And shockingly, the people seems to be on the under, as we can get dog money on the more right today at +102. You have two choices here. Just take the over ten and a half in +102, or anticipate the under actions to continue coming, and wait for the line to adapt to ten runs at -110. Personally, I’ll take the additional juice as I see this 1 sailing way over, and I want the higher payout more than the half a jog. I, however, can see a situation for waiting on the line to proceed as well. As it stands now, I’ll take the over ten and a half runs tonight in the Bronx in +102!
